Who We Are
Pradeepta Basati Welfare Foundation was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to make quality healthcare and education accessible to every individual in Assam, especially in rural and underserved communities. Founded as an initiative of Bright Mission Social Welfare, a registered NGO, we recognized the critical gaps in healthcare access and educational opportunities across Lower Assam.
What started as a small community health initiative has grown into a comprehensive movement serving thousands of members through our network of partner hospitals, educational institutions, and community programs. Our journey has been guided by the principle that serving humanity is the greatest form of service.
Today, we stand as a beacon of hope and support for communities across Assam, bridging the gap between healthcare needs and accessible solutions, while empowering youth through quality education and career opportunities.
Our Story
It began in 2015 with a simple conversation under a tree in Chenga village. A group of us—teachers, social workers, and local volunteers—sat together wondering why our neighbors had to travel hours for basic medical care or couldn't afford school fees for their children. We decided then that waiting for someone else to solve these problems wasn't an option.
Our first health camp was modest—just a few doctors volunteering their Sunday, medicines donated by a local pharmacy, and patients queuing under the shade of that same tree. But something remarkable happened. Word spread. More doctors wanted to help. Families started trusting us with their health. Children began asking if we could also help them study.
That trust became our foundation. Over the years, we've grown from that single tree into an organization with partner hospitals across the state, after-school centers in multiple villages, and programs that touch every aspect of community wellbeing. But our heart remains in those small moments—a child reading her first sentence, an elderly patient receiving free medication, a woman starting her own tailoring business.

Founder & Director
15+ years in community development and social work. Started the foundation after witnessing healthcare disparities in his own village.
Dr. Anjali Sharma
Head of Health Programs
MBBS, MPH. Leads our health camps, telemedicine initiatives, and hospital partnerships. Believes that preventive care can transform communities.
Rupjyoti Kalita
Education Coordinator
Former school teacher with a passion for making learning accessible. Manages our scholarship programs and after-school centers.
Mrinmoy Das
Operations Manager
Ensures that our programs run smoothly, resources reach where they're needed, and every rupee is spent wisely.
Deepika Bora
Women's Empowerment Lead
Works directly with self-help groups, vocational training participants, and women entrepreneurs across the district.
